Honouring the Legacy of Graeme Ridgewell

Graeme's Legacy

This passing month, we bid farewell to our beloved Chair, Trustee, and Founder, Graeme Ridgewell. With deep sadness and immense gratitude, we reflect on his legacy and the incredible impact he has had on our community. For years, Graeme dedicated his life to supporting vulnerable young people and creating opportunities for them to thrive. His vision and passion helped shape Carlisle Key into the lifeline it is for many.

Graeme was known for his unwavering kindness and genuine desire to make a difference. He led with heart and humility, always prioritising the needs of young people in Carlisle and abroad into Scotland. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his humour, and his commitment to social change. We are incredibly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind, and his spirit will continue to guide our mission.

Moving forward, Pauline Colla has stepped into the role of interim Chair, and we welcome our newest trustee, Mike Vose, to join us in carrying Graeme’s vision forward. We are also collaborating with CVS, The Fore, NCVO, and ACEVO to grow our board, ensuring we remain resilient and impactful. Our work is more critical than ever, with our drop-in centre and supported accommodation operating at capacity and new referrals arriving each week.
